Program Testimonials
“I just thought my computer was getting old and that gradual decreases in the system performance was normal. I was at a friend’s house and was surprised at how fast his computer moved, considering his was more than a year older than mine. That’s when I found out that he used ErrorSmart. That night I went home and downloaded ErrorSmart on my own PC and I couldn’t believe the difference it made. I will never run a computer without ErrorSmart again.” - Barry Chamberlain ~ Skokie, Illinois
“I work from home and my job involves big and complicated spreadsheets. I got sick and tired of my PC crashing at the most inopportune moments and losing valuable data. I asked one of the IT pros at my company what to do and she actually recommended ErrorSmart to me. I downloaded it that afternoon and haven’t lost a spreadsheet entry since. Thanks! I owe you one.” – Tamara Johnson ~ New Berlin, Wisconsin
ErrorSmart Review
ErrorSmart is a breeze to install and when the program launches you are shown a very nice looking graphical program interface. There are a number of options at the top of the ErrorSmart screen including Settings, Backup, Utilities and Help. The program starts out in the scan area.
This is where you decide what type of scan you want to do. There are 14 different items to choose from, including Application Paths, Startup items, Sounds, and Drivers. You can simply choose to let ErrorSmart scan for all 14 problem types or you can use the check boxes to select what you would like the program to scan for.
Once you are happy with your choices you can click the big ‘Scan Now’ button and ErrorSmart moves on to scanning mode. You are shown a progress bar as the program seeks out errors in your registry and a running count is kept as errors are located on your system. Once the scan is finished you are given a breakdown of how many total errors have been located in each of the areas you selected earlier.
You can expand each of these areas to get detailed information on each problem found and where it was located on your system. You can manually pick all the problem files in a particular area to be deleted or even select individual entries to be removed from your computer if you wish. If time is of the essence then you can remove all problem files automatically with one click of the ‘Fix & Continue’ button.
ErrorSmart will make a backup of any registry files it removes from your computer. if you run into any problems after registry files are removed you can simply go to the Backup area of the ErrorSmart program and restore the files to your system.
Some of the more advanced options in ErrorSmart include the Browser Helper Object Manager, Startup program Manager, Add/Remove Program Manager and Full Registry Backup Utility. The Browser Helper Object Manager, or BHO for short, will give you a run down of the browser helper objects such as unwanted tool bars that have attached themselves to your Internet Explorer browser.
The Startup Program Manager will give you a list of all programs that startup automatically when you boot up Windows. Many of these programs are unnecessary and just increase your system’s boot time and reduce system performance. You can do a full registry backup using the Full Registry Backup Utility. This is important if a system failure should occur in the future and all your registry settings are lost.
In the settings area you can have ErrorSmart keep a log file and if you want the program to launch when you first open the program. You can also choose if you want ErrorSmart to check for updates.
